Christina Hackett

Dr. Christina Hackett is a senior research associate with the Social Research and Demonstration Corporation in Ottawa.

Christina earned a PhD in Health Policy at McMaster University in 2017. Her doctoral work focused on population health outcomes of Indigenous peoples of Canada; and improving the experiences of gaining support for mental health-related disability within the workplace.She has her BA (Hons) History of Art from the University of Warwick, her MA in Counselling Psychology from the Adler University, and her MSc in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the London School of Economics & the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

She is experienced in developing and implementing clinical and community-based mental health services to vulnerable populations including at-risk young people, individuals with chronic mental health issues and Indigenous peoples in both rural and urban settings. She has also led research initiatives aimed at advancing mental health program evaluation for young people in circumpolar contexts. Christina's research interests include understanding the role of context in health and mental health outcomes. She is the Research Director for Going Off, Growing Strong, aiming to expand methods for mental health program evaluation across different cultural paradigms of knowledge, while addressing intersections between multiple services and systems to improve service design.
