Xavier Bromfield

Student Fellow

Xavier is a first year PhD student at McMaster University. She is supervised by Professor Rebecca Gewurtz. Xavier is interested in the role of supports and accommodations in the job maintenance process for individuals with physical and mental health conditions. The objective of her research is to explore how job maintenance is currently being addressed within employment support services for people with disabilities and to identify best practices in the job maintenance process. Xavier’s main career goal is to serve as an active member of the vocational rehabilitation field by providing direct services, conducting research and disseminating new knowledge on both local and international levels.

Xavier has professional experience in the Vocational, Rehabilitation and Counselling fields. She has worked in these capacities at Tewksbury State Hospital, Massachusetts, The International University of the Caribbean, Jamaica and The Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, Connecticut.
